SOUTH RUN FIELD HOUSE
IMPORTANT LEAGUE STRUCTURE DETAILS
**ALL LEAGUES:
Division structure, schedules including starting and ending dates, and game times/locations are subject to change based on final registrations. Some Divisions may be merged to provide a positive league experience.
Players MUST have played at least one season of organized lacrosse to be eligible to participate in the "game only" league -
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Overview
- Games ONLY- No practices
- SEVEN game schedule
- Playoffs and Championship for top teams in all divisions.
- Trained ADULT supervision on all fields
- Players will be placed on the same team with others from their youth group or high school
- 20 players per team to maximize playing time
- Certified referees will officiate all games
- Players receive a game jersey to keep
- Post game "tip card" with positive messages on competition, sportsmanship and training drills
Players MUST provide their own equipment: stick, helmet, shoulder and arm pads, gloves. We DO NOT rent equipment for league play.

The other leagues' fields are MUCH smaller - especially the WIDTH of the fields

Virginia Boys Winter League
NO PRACTICES -- GAMES ONLY
Game "only" with a POSITIVE Difference
We have secured the two LARGEST indoor facilities in the area to host the VA Winter League. ALL teams will play at both locations.
- Playoffs and Championships for top teams in all Divisions.
- Champions will receive team awards.
- Outstanding players will be honored and receive individual awards.
START: Weekend of Dec 10 after Fall tournaments
END: Late Feb - just before spring tryouts
NO GAMES during the HOLIDAYS (Christmas and New Years week)
GAME FORMAT
This is NOT BOX lacrosse. The size of both facilities allows for a much more realistic game - closer to the outside field game. This will help teams and players prepare for their spring season. Seven game schedule - Players have the opportunity to sharpen their game skills in a competitive, organized, and safe league.
- 8 v 8 lacrosse
(2 Attack, 3 Midfield, 2 Defense* - and a Goalie)
*Long sticks @ South Run. *Short sticks @ The Box - Regulation 6' x 6' goals
much better for shooters and goalies
- Limited Body Checking - NOT Box lacrosse
Protect players from injuries prior to the spring season
- League starts in December
to allow teams to play in the many fall tournaments and not miss games. The season ends just prior to the spring season tryouts.

NEW AGE CRITERIA - same as NVYLL 2012
Northern Virginia Youth Lacrosse League (NVYLL) has changed the age cut-off date for the upcoming 2012 season. NVYLL placement is based on players AGE as of August 31, 2011.
Players may play UP an age group but not DOWN
U-15 No older than 14 (as of 8-31-11)
9th graders must play JV
U-13 No older than 12 (as of 8-31-11)
U-11 No older than 10 (as of 8-31-11)
U-9 No older than 8 (as of 8-31-11)
YOUTH Game Days and Times:
FRIDAYS between 6:00pm and 9:00pm (10:00pm U-15)
SATURDAYS between 1:00pm and 8:00pm (10:00pm U-15)
SUNDAYS between 11:00am and 8:00pm
COST Register EARLY and SAVE $$
